I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During my college years, I had the opportunity to play for the men's ice hockey team and proudly served as team captain in my junior and senior seasons.

Upon graduating from Bethel, I enrolled at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where I earned my M.D. During this time, I had the opportunity to engage in a pre-doctoral clinical research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My passion for neuroscience led me to collaborate in the neurosurgical laboratories of Dr. Andrew Grande and Dr. Walter Low at the University of Minnesota Stem Cell Institute, focusing on the potential of stem cells in stroke treatment. I am grateful to have learned from some of the best physicians and researchers in the world. I was honored to be elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society before graduation. 

I'm a proud father, husband, and owner of a spoiled golden retriever. My family and I reside on the plains of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When I’m not busy chasing after my toddler, you can find me lost in a book, cycling local trails, or hiking outdoors.
