About Me

Greetings! My name is Tony Larson, and I am happy you are here!

With over five years of experience in science writing, medicine, and clinical research at top institutions, I have developed a passion for four specific areas:

  • Writing and Content Excellence. My writing has appeared in top publications like Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Neurology, and the Journal of the American Heart Association. I deliver exceptional and concise content that exceeds expectations.
  • Versatility. Industry and medicine are rapidly evolving. I adapt my content creation approaches based on the latest evidence-based research.
  • Timeliness.  I have tackled dozens of critical, time-sensitive writing projects. I'm committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Collaboration. I really enjoy being part of a team, and I'm thrilled about the opportunity to work together to achieve our goals!

Education

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During my college years, I had the opportunity to play for the men's ice hockey team and proudly served as team captain in my junior and senior seasons.

Upon graduating from Bethel, I enrolled at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where I earned my M.D. During this time, I had the opportunity to engage in a pre-doctoral clinical research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My passion for neuroscience led me to collaborate in the neurosurgical laboratories of Dr. Andrew Grande and Dr. Walter Low at the University of Minnesota Stem Cell Institute, focusing on the potential of stem cells in stroke treatment. I am grateful to have learned from some of the best physicians and researchers in the world. I was honored to be elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society before graduation.

Experience and Areas of Expertise

I have been a scientific writer for over five years. Having published more than 45 peer-reviewed articles—including case reports, narrative reviews, systematic reviews/meta-analyses, editorials, CME articles, and original research papers—I possess a strong foundation in literature review methodology, evidence synthesis, and scientific writing and editing. Additionally, I have experience in protocol and grant writing and have published numerous abstracts, posters, and slide decks at prominent medical conferences.

I also have over five years of experience in clinical research and expertise in clinical data appraisal and analysis, trial development, biomedical statistics, clinical trial design and implementation, and regulatory affairs. I also possess a working knowledge of drug and device development processes across various geographical jurisdictions.

I have extensive experience in the following therapeutic areas:

  • Interventional neuroradiology and neuroimaging
  • Interventional cardiology and cardiac ablation

MORE ABOUT ME

I'm a proud father, husband, and dog dad to a spoiled golden retriever. My family and I reside on the plains of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When I’m not busy chasing after my toddler, you can find me indulging in a cup of local coffee, lost in a Dostoevsky novel, cycling local trails, or hiking outdoors.
