My Experience

Greetings! My name is Tony Larson, and I am happy you are here.

As a physician with over five years of experience in scientific writing and clinical research, I am excited to utilize my skills as a publications or regulatory medical writer in the device industry. I have extensive experience in the following areas:

  • Authoring scientifically accurate, concise, and engaging deliverables while adhering to specific guidelines (e.g., AMA and ICJME)
  • Performing complex literature searches using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Database, and other platforms
  • Using knowledge of clinical trials and biostatistics to extract, appraise, critically analyze, and summarize clinical data
  • Managing several projects at a time, from inception to peer-reviewed publication or presentation
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with physician investigators and key opinion leaders to drive project completion
  • Communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems and meet tight deadlines
  • Staying up to date on device industry trends in several therapeutic areas

  • Education

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During my college years, I had the opportunity to play for the men's ice hockey team and proudly served as team captain in my junior and senior seasons.

Upon graduating from Bethel, I enrolled at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where I earned my M.D. During this time, I had the opportunity to engage in a pre-doctoral clinical research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where I focused on neurovascular disease.

My passion for neuroscience led me to collaborate in the neurosurgical laboratories at the University of Minnesota Stem Cell Institute, where I focused on stem cell potential in stroke treatment. I am grateful to have learned from some of the best physicians and researchers in the world. Before graduation, I was honored to be elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

What I Bring to the Table

    • Writing and Content Excellence. My writing has appeared in top publications like Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Neurology, and the Journal of the American Heart Association. I deliver exceptional and concise content that exceeds expectations.
    • Versatility. Industry and medicine are rapidly evolving. I adapt my content creation approaches based on the latest evidence-based research.
    • Timeliness.  I have tackled dozens of critical, time-sensitive writing projects. I'm committed to meeting deadlines.
    • Collaboration. I really enjoy being part of a team, and I'm thrilled about the opportunity to achieve our goals together!

    MORE ABOUT ME

I'm a proud father, husband, and owner of a spoiled golden retriever. My family and I reside on the plains of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. When I’m not busy chasing after my toddler, you can find me indulging in a cup of local coffee, lost in a Dostoevsky novel, cycling local trails, or hiking outdoors.
